An Exclusive Invitation to the
Judgment of Napa 2026

This October, wine enthusiasts will have the opportunity to participate in a remarkable celebration of one of the most influential events in wine history. Cultured Vine's Judgment of Napa 2026 commemorates the 50th anniversary of the historic 1976 Judgment of Paris with an immersive tasting experience at Freemark Abbey in Napa Valley on Monday, October 5.

At the heart of the experience is a blind tasting curated by Peter Marks MW and Peter Granoff MS, featuring California's finest Chardonnays and Cabernets against the world's best, with results revealed live in true Judgment of Paris fashion. The distinguished panel of judges includes Jancis Robinson MW, Tor Kenward, Philippe Melka, Jesse Katz, Chris Carpenter, Paul Hobbs, Aaron Pott, and Angelina Mondavi, among other acclaimed leaders in the wine industry—including several with ties to the Mayacama community.

The event reunites historic figures from the original 1976 Judgment of Paris, never before gathered together on U.S. soil. Among them are Patricia Gastaud-Gallagher, Steven Spurrier's American business partner who helped conceive the original tasting; Bella Spurrier, whose impromptu photographs immortalized the event; and members of the family of former TIME magazine reporter George Taber, whose coverage—and later book, Judgment of Paris—chronicled the landmark tasting. Master Sommelier Andrea Immer Robinson will emcee the event alongside Angela Duerr, founder of Judgment of Napa and Cultured Vine.
