Crafted exclusively from the younger vines of BOND, Harlan Estate, and Promontory, The Mascot serves as an alluring gateway for oenophiles to immerse themselves in the legendary legacy of these iconic estates.
The red wine blend is composed of 85-95% Cabernet Sauvignon, along with small quantities of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Each of the three "parent" estates imparts its distinct characteristics to this exceptional blend.
Guided by the visionary leadership of Cory Empting, Director of Winegrowing for the Harlan family domain, winemaking teams from each property come together in a collaborative effort to artfully assemble the final masterpiece.
Today’s Mayacama wine offer provides members access to The Mascot’s newly released 2019 vintage bottling. 2019 has been lauded as a high-quality vintage for Cabernet that will be easy to drink and enjoy with minimal cellaring. The extra kick of late heat in the season softened the tannins, making the wines a pleasure to taste and drink, even in the early going.
The 2019 Mascot is beautifully supple with a wide aromatic spectrum and an effortless depth of fruit. From a center point on the palate, the 2019 vintage flows outward in all directions. It’s an absolutely complete wine that, as it’s known to do, satisfies and impresses.
