2012 Cabernet Sauvignon - Beckstoffer
Georges III Vineyard, G Block

The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Beckstoffer Georges III offers plenty of sweet red and black current fruit intertwined with dusty, loamy soil notes, sweet tannin, a distinctive terroir character, and a full-bodied, rich, super-concentrated mouthfeel. In the fifties, sixties, and seventies, this historic vineyard was a component part of the former BV Private Reserve Georges de Latour Cabernet Sauvignon. It is also the vineyard source of the highly rated Alpha Omega.

John Boich is the proprietor and a Mayacama Member. He brought me the first release of this wine, made by Jeff Ames, also the winemaker at Tor. When I first opened it, I really liked it. Twenty minutes later like liked it a lot better. Twenty minutes after that, I'm thinking WOW! This wine is not yet rated.
