Pac-12 Men's Championship

As the 2021 Men’s Pac-12 Championship at Mayacama grows near, we wanted to provide you with some of the details about the Championship and your use of the Club during the event. First, we are extremely excited to host this Championship and grateful to The University of California, Berkeley for selecting us as their venue. The Championship rotates between Universities on an annual basis and is the season highlight for each team to compete for their Conference Championship.

We have hosted some great Championships at Mayacama in our twenty years. Yet The Men’s Pac-12 Championship will be the strongest field from top to bottom that we have ever had compete for a Championship at our Club. While we know that it is asking a lot of our Members to give up their Club for 4 days of prime playing conditions in the Spring, we feel that it is important to give something back to the game that has brought us so much enjoyment, especially over the last year. And as we always say…it’s what good clubs do!

We appreciate your support of the 2021 Men’s Pac-12 Championship at Mayacama! Please take a few moments to read through some important information about the Championship and your use of the Club during the event days.

Important Information

Competition

Twelve teams will compete for the PAC-12 Conference Championship at Mayacama. They will play four rounds of stroke play over three days. Each team competes with six players, and the five lowest 18-hole scores are counted each day.

The players will play Mayacama’s “Back Tee” yardage, measuring approximately 6,800 yards. While short by today’s standards, we are confident that our Spring conditions will provide an adequate challenge to this elite field. Course set up will be as normal…fair yet challenging hole locations with greens rolling at “Championship Speed”. The native rough will be at its prime height as is normal during the Spring months. There are currently no plans to make any adjustments to the “par” of any hole.
