NO SMOKING PLEASE!

 With rising temperatures,we have again entered high fire danger season so we are enforcing our no smoking on the golf course policy. Our Membership Agreement states "smoking is not permitted anywhere on the Mayacama property except in the designated smoking areas. Designated smoking areas are restricted to the private Women's Locker Room Terrace and the Library Terrace off the Men's Locker Room. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on or near the Golf Course or Practice Facility." During high fire danger season, this is a zero tolerance policy so as to protect the environment, club assets, personal property, and the homes on campus. We have asked our caddies and employees to assist in enforcing this policy. Violations to this important rule will result in Member suspension. Thank you for your cooperation.

Members came out in numbers to watch the final round of the 2014 Mayacama Cup Match Play Championship. Always held over the Memorial Day weekend, the Mayacama Cup attracts a strong field of players, drawing not only from our local Members but National Members as well.
In the Women's Division, congratulations to Emily Pottruck for her win over 2013 Champion, Lisa French. In the Men's Mayacama Flight, it was a battle between two former Champions, with John Stewart sealing this year's Championship over his opponent, John Reininga. In the Men's Championship Flight, Brady Exber successfully defended his title by winning his 36-hole final match against Kevin Bedsole.
We would like to thank all of the players for participating in the 13th playing of the Mayacama Cup Match Play Championship, and all of the Members who came out as spectators to watch their fellow Members compete in our first Championship of the year. It is our goal to conduct these Championships at the highest level, and we look forward to your participation in future events, clinics, tournaments, and Championships at Mayacama Golf Club.
SCHULZ CELEBRITY GOLF CLASSIC

 Once again Mayacama is proud to support the Schulz Celebrity Golf Classic, benefiting Sonoma County Children's Charity. Mayacama hosts the event by donating the facility, golf, overnight accommodations, and all the necessary staff for a successful event. The golf tournament, dinner, and auction have been a huge success in past years by raising over $3,200,000 in donations. This year's beneficiaries include the Boys & Girls Club of Central Sonoma County, PDI Surgery Center, Santa Rosa Catholic Charities Family Support Center, the Sonoma Academy Scholarship Foundation, and Children's Education Programs at the Charles M. Schulz Museum and Research Center.
This is the one charitable event the Club officially aligns itself with. Although this event takes place on a Tuesday when the Club is closed, we make every effort to minimize the impact of your experience at the Club on our setup and dismantle days before and after the event. We appreciate your cooperation and support of this worthy event.

The game is 9 point. All you need to bring is your favorite wedge and putter. You will play a match where the object is to reach nine points before your opponent. A short chip or pitch is selected to a specific hole. The start of each hole shall be played with your wedge, all following shots can be played with your putter. Points are received for the number of strokes taken as listed below. The first player to 9 points, wins.
1 stroke = 2 points
2 strokes = 1 point
3 strokes = 0 points
4 or more strokes = -1 point

JUNIOR GOLF DEMO & APPAREL DAY

US Kids Golf will be providing us with a mix of demo clubs for juniors so that we may properly fit any juniors that are in need of new clubs or any juniors that are interested in taking up the game. Also on site will be the GARB RIG; a jeep that is outfitted with GARB's junior apparel and merchandise. Kids will love the equipment, the apparel, and the fun and games.

 Once again we are pleased to have scheduled a Home & Home Match with CordeValle in San Martin, CA just south of San Jose. CordeValle was the host site for the Fry.com PGA Tour Tournament the past three years and has been selected to host the 2016 Women's US Open Championship.
The format is Four-Ball Match Play on day one and Singles Matches on day two. Mayacama teams are comprised of seven male Members and one Golf Professional. Entries will be received on a first, come-first, served basis.
