Mayacama Golf Club cordially invites you to compete in the 23rd Annual Men’s Member-Guest Golf Tournament. The field is limited to 60 teams and all entrants must register for the tournament lottery on the official Mayacama Members-Only Website by Monday, July 1, 2024. Verbal and telephone entries will not be accepted. On your registration please have your complete guest information. You will receive an electronic confirmation of your registration. This confirmation is an acknowledgment of your registration, it does not guarantee a place in the Championship. The 60 teams will be determined by a championship lottery of all the registered Members, which will take place on the evening of July 3, 2024. All registrants will be notified of their status by electronic mail by Monday, July 8, 2024. Please keep this tournament information for your future reference.
THE LOTTERY: Teams that register and are Overall Champions (Past 3 years) gain exemption into the field.
- Teams that were waitlisted and did not play in the 2023 Men’s Member-Guest will receive two entries in the lottery.
- Teams that were waitlisted and did not play in the 2022 and 2023 Men’s Member-Guest will receive automatic entry into the 2024 Men’s Member-Guest.
FORMAT: The format for this tournament will be Four-Ball Match Play (Better-Ball-of-Two) event using 100% of the difference between your Course Handicap and the player with the lowest handicap, who shall play at scratch. Five 9-hole matches will be played within each flight. Scoring for these matches will be based on the following point system:
- Hole Won: 1 point
- Hole Halved: ½ point
- Maximum Points per 9-hole Match: 7 points
The team accumulating the highest point total in each flight for the five matches will be declared The Flight Winner. The team with the second highest point total will be declared the Flight Runners-Up. Ties for the flight winners and flight runner-up will be broken by the results of the earlier head-to-head matches between the tied teams.
FLIGHTS: The field will be divided into ten flights based upon the combined handicaps of the two team members. Each flight will consist of six teams. The Gross Division Flight will play from the Back Tee Markers. Members wishing to compete in this flight must check the appropriate box during registration. If more than six teams enter to play in the Gross Division, the teams will be selected based on the six teams with the lowest combined Handicap Indexes. All other flights will play from the Middle Tee Markers.
OVERALL CHAMPIONS: The Overall Champions will be decided by a Four-Hole Shoot-Out among the ten Flight Winners. The Shoot-Out will begin immediately following lunch on Saturday, September 28, 2024. The format for the Shoot-Out will be Foursome Stroke Play.
HANDICAP INFORMATION: The Tournament Committee will be using your current USGA Handicap Index as of September 18, 2024. Strokes for all the matches will be distributed according to the Stroke Index on the scorecard. For players whose handicap is an odd number, ½ strokes will be given. (Example: If a player has a handicap of 9 strokes, he will receive a total of 4 ½ strokes per nine-hole match.) The maximum handicap differential between partners is 10 strokes.

ENTRY FEE: The entry fee for this Tournament is $2,250 per two-person team and includes all tournament prizes, a commemorative welcome gift, and all meals and functions listed on the Schedule of Events. Caddie fees are not included.
- There will be a non-refundable $1,000 tournament deposit billed to all entrants on Thursday, August 1, 2024.
- Additional guests who would like to attend The Member-Guest Player's Dinner may be included at $95 ++ per guest.
The lottery will be drawn on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, and all registrants will be notified of their status by Monday, July 9, 2024.
NON-TOURNAMENT PLAY: Non-tournament starting times will not be available on Thursday and Friday, September 26 & 27 and are limited on Saturday afternoon, September 28, 2024. Please contact the Golf Shop for availability.
