Mayacama Golf Club cordially invites you to compete in The Annual Championships of Mayacama Golf Club. Please keep this championship information available for your future reference.

CHAMPIONSHIP FORMAT
Stroke Play - 54 Holes (18 Holes per day)

CHAMPIONSHIP ELEGIBILITY
Open to all Golf Members in good standing of Mayacama Golf Club. Players MUST have an established current USGA Handicap Index to compete for Net Prizes.

WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP FLIGHT
The player with the lowest gross score will be named Mayacama Women’s Club Champion for the year 2016.

WOMEN'S MAYACAMA FLIGHT
Other than the low gross score as stated above, all other competitors will be competing against the entire field using 100% of the Competitor’s Course Handicap to determine the Women’s Mayacama Flight Champion for the year 2016. The maximum allowable Course Handicap for women is 36 strokes.

MEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP FLIGHT
This flight will be played at scratch from the Back Tee Markers and will determine the Champion Golfer of Mayacama Golf Club for the year 2016.

MEN'S MAYACAMA FLIGHT
This flight will be played from the Middle Tee Markers using 100% of the competitor’s Course Handicap and will determine the Mayacama Flight Champion for the year 2016. The maximum allowable Course Handicap for men is 24 strokes.

HANDICAPS
Players MUST have an established current USGA Handicap Index to compete in the net portion of this competition. Players will receive 100% of their USGA Course Handicap. The Championship Committee will be using your current USGA Handicap Index as of August 15, 2016.

Maximum Handicap Allowance:
Men’s Mayacama Flight: 24 Strokes
Women’s Mayacama Flight: 36 Strokes

PAIRINGS
First round pairings will be made by a blind draw. Second and third round pairings will be made based on first and second round score totals. Information regarding Friday’s first round pairings, starting times, etc. will be posted in the Golf Shop at Noon on Wednesday, August 17, 2016. Pairings for Saturday and Sunday will be posted in the Golf Shop after 5:00 pm on Friday and Saturday evenings. It is the players' responsibility to contact the Golf Shop for this information.

Women – Forward Tee Marker
Men’s Championship Flight – Back Tee Marker
Men’s Mayacama Flight – Middle Tee Marker

STARTING TIMES 
The competitors shall start at the time laid down by the Committee. Starting times will begin at 8:00 am on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at Hole #1. The competitors shall remain throughout the round in the group arranged by the Committee.

3:00 pm - Awards Presentation on the Putting Green

Please Note: Starting times are approximate. Only players who are available to play in all scheduled rounds should enter.

LATENESS ON THE TEE
If a player arrives at his/her starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his/her starting time, the penalty for failure to start on time will be 2 strokes at the first hole. After five minutes, the player shall be disqualified. (Rule 6-3a)

GOLF BALLS
Only brands of golf balls on the USGA list of conforming golf balls may be used. The list is available for your review in the Golf Shop and at www.USGA.org.

RULES OF GOLF
Play will be governed by the Rules of Golf as approved by the United States Golf Association. Questions shall be settled by the Mayacama Golf Club Championship Committee, whose decision shall be final. Knowledge of and adherence to the rules are integral parts of sportsmanship. Each contestant should place special emphasis on knowledge of the Rules of Golf. 

SPECIAL NOTICE
In accordance with the Rules of Golf as set forth by the United States Golf Association, artificial devices for the purpose of measuring distance are PROHIBITED in this Championship. (Rule 14-3)

TIES
Ties for 1st Place Gross and Net will be decided by a sudden death playoff beginning on Hole #1. The playoff will begin immediately upon the completion of score posting in each flight. Ties for 1st Place Gross will be played at scratch. Ties for 1st Place Net will receive strokes as they appear on the scorecard. All other ties will split money.

PRIZES
All flight winners and runners-up will receive their own Championship Cup replica. Flight Winners will receive a Commemorative Championship Plaque, Championship Medal, and have their names engraved on their respective Championship Trophy and Champion’s Board; both of which are on permanent display in the Mayacama Clubhouse. All other prizes will be in the form of prize credits.

ENTRY FEE
The Entry Fee for this Championship is $130 per Member. Caddie Fees are not included. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance and no-shows will be responsible for 100% of the Entry Fee.

ENTRY CLOSING & REGISTRATION
All entrants MUST apply on the official Mayacama Golf Club Championship Entry Form or register on the Members Only Website by 5:00 pm on Sunday, August 21, 2016. All players must contact the Golf Shop to confirm receipt of entry or online registration. Verbal and telephone entries will not be accepted.

Non-Championship Play
Non-Championship play is not permitted on the course prior to the start of the Championship. Non-Championship play is permitted to begin approximately 30 minutes after the last starting time each day. Please contact the Golf Shop for non-championship starting times.
