Dear Mayacama Members,

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying the early part of the Spring season at Mayacama. As activity across the Club continues to increase, I would like to take a moment to reinforce a few important on-course policies and cultural expectations that are essential to maintaining the quality of experience we all value.

Beginning Play on the First Tee

To assist the pace of play, Members and guests are asked to refrain from beginning their round until the entire group ahead of you has reached the first green. While many are familiar with the natural pace adjustment around the third hole, allowing this initial spacing creates a more relaxed and fluid round for all groups throughout the course.

Pairing During Busy Periods

During peak play periods, our Golf Professionals and Outside Services team are tasked with managing the flow of play as efficiently as possible. Any group of two players or less should be open to being paired up with another two-ball to create a consistent pace across the golf course. We have empowered our team to make these decisions and ask for your full cooperation. For those who prefer not to be paired, we encourage play during early morning or later afternoon times where availability is more accommodating.

Smoking Policy

With the arrival of the spring season, smoking is strictly prohibited on the golf course. When smoking rules are in effect, designated smoking areas remain available near the Clubhouse, and we expect that all Members and guests adhere fully to this policy.

Care of Our Course – Tee Boxes

Recently, we have seen an increase in broken or discarded tees being left behind. Each player is expected to pick up their own tee after use. This small but important step ensures the course continues to reflect the standards we all appreciate.

These expectations are not new, but they are foundational to the culture and experience of Mayacama. I appreciate your attention to these details and your continued partnership in upholding the standards that make our Club so special.
