Proudly Introducing Mayacama's Executive Chef,
Matt Enjaian

We are thrilled to officially introduce Executive Chef Matt Enjaian, who has been a valued member of the Mayacama culinary team since 2022. A Novato native with deep roots in Northern California, Chef Matt’s culinary journey began at just 15 years old, washing dishes at Indian Valley Golf Course. That early spark ignited a passion that’s taken him from kitchens to butcher blocks, and now to a leadership role guiding Mayacama’s culinary program

After graduating from San Marin High School, Matt studied business at Santa Barbara City College before following his true calling to the kitchen. He went on to graduate with high honors from Le Cordon Bleu in San Francisco, sharpening his skills at Cliff House and EPIC Steak during his time in culinary school.

He later spent six years at Flannery Beef as Lead Butcher, developing an expert understanding of sourcing and meat preparation—knowledge that continues to shape his approach to seasonal cooking and elevated comfort food. In 2021, he ventured south to San Diego’s celebrated Born and Raised in Little Italy before returning home to the North Bay and joining the Mayacama team in 2022.

From the moment he stepped into our kitchen, Matt's dedication, creativity, and natural leadership stood out, immersing himself in learning the rhythm of our treasured Club and building strong relationships with the rest of the culinary team. Rising quickly from Sous Chef to Executive Sous, and now to Executive Chef, Matt has made a lasting impact through his detailed, energetic approach and passion for hospitality. Now at the helm, he brings that same spirit to life—presenting fresh ideas, high-energy leadership, and a deep commitment to excellence.

Since stepping into the role, Chef Matt has introduced a range of new dishes that celebrate bold flavors and seasonal ingredients—many of which have already become fast favorites among the Membership.

We are incredibly proud to have Chef Matt leading our culinary program and excited for all that’s ahead under his direction. Please join us in congratulating him on this well-earned promotion!
